O'Driscoll Clan Chieftains

Served 2003-2005

Vincent O'Driscoll

For those of us who have visited the O'Driscoll heartland in Balitmore, West County Cork, Vincent's face is familiar as the owner and Captain of the ferry service between Baltimore and Sherkin Island.

Vincent was born, raised, and schooled on Sherkin. He is the son of May Margaret O'Driscoll and the late Patrick Michael (Pat Mikey) O'Driscoll. His paternal grandparents were Michael O'Driscoll and Bridget Collins. Maternal grandparents were Connie O'Driscoll (Cornelius) and Johanna O'Driscoll (from Cape Clear).

Vincent and his wife Rosaleen live in Baltimore with their daughter Áine and son Patrick. Like her father before her, Áine attends school on Sherkin, travelling over each day on her father's ferry boat.

Vincent thanks all Clan members for their confidence in choosing him as Clan Chieftain and stresses the need for all of us to work togehter and continue to strenghthen the ties with O'Driscoll Clan members world-wide. In June 2005 he was pleased to preside over the investiture of our new Clan Chieftain, Dave Driscoll of the U.K. with local businessman and Clan supporter, Youen Jacobs, acting as M.C. for the occasion and a former Clan Chieftain, Sean O'Drisceoil of Galway looking on from the side.
